OUR TRIP TO SAN ANTONIO
In June we drove to San Antonio, Texas, to visit with Vera's son, Chris, and his wife, Sarina, and his two daughters, Ashli and Jasmine. We had a great time.It is so nice to visit with people that you love.Ashli turned 17 this month, and she has grown into a beautiful and elegant young lady. She is taller than Vera now, (her Farmor, swedish for 'father's mother') however, even though she is tall she carries herself very well and stands up nice and straight always. She has a great sense of humor and is soooo much fun to be with. Jasmine just turned 3 and is also very tall for her age. She talks a mile a minute and is constantly doing something funny or cute. She prays for her meals and is hilarious when she does it. (its hard to keep a straight face) When we say we're going to pray, she always wants to be the one to pray. She looks at everybody around the table and with both hands signals every body and says, 'put your head down'. If someone doesn't do it she tells them again and wont start praying until they do. She then keeps her eyes open because she looks at everything that's on the table and prays for it. Forks, knives, spoons, olives, pickles, etc. etc. She usually has to be told that its enough. She is so much fun!Ashli and Jasmine really love each other and play together a lot. Ashli is so good with her and very patient. (She's going to make a good mother someday. Hopefully a few years away.)Sarina is looking soooo good. she's lost loads of weight. She is so strong in sticking to her diet and going to the gym almost every day. (I should follow her example)Chris is working in the trauma center at the University Hospital and doing very well. Everyone likes him (at least that's what he tells us.) He also has lost weight and continues to do so as he goes to the gym and works out.San Antonio is a pretty city but ooohhh sooooo hot! it was blazing the whole time we were there and with very high humidity. Vera said she thinks people must live there to find out what hell is like.Following are some of the pictures we took. 'Till next time,Judith
